Commission B Supports Expansion of TransJabodetabek Blok M-Soetta Airport

Chairman of Jakarta City Council's Commission B, Nova Harivan Paloh fully supports the plan to expand the Transjabodetabek service, which will connect the Blok M area with Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is planned to be operational before Eid.

more economical

According to Nova, the expansion of Transjakarta services is very beneficial for the public, especially workers working in Jakarta. With an affordable fare of Rp 3,500 and adequate comfort, this service is considered a viable and economical alternative for public transportation.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport–Blok M Transjabodetabek Route Under Consideration

"Several routes now exist, such as Bogor-Jakarta and vice versa, with a fare of Rp 3,500. This is certainly a great help for employees working in the Jakarta area. Compared to using private vehicles, whether two-wheeled or four-wheeled, public transportation is far more economical," he said, Friday (2/6).

Nova also confirmed that the expansion of public transportation services has not significantly impacted the subsidy burden from the Jakarta Regional Budget. In fact, he stated that the transportation sector subsidy allocation has actually decreased.

"Previously, the subsidy was around Rp 4.2 trillion, but it has since dropped to Rp 3.8 trillion. This means that if passenger numbers continue to rise, the subsidy could potentially decrease further in the future due to increased revenue from the transportation business itself," he added.

Previously, the Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, targeted the operation of the new Transjabodetabek Blok M–Soetta Airport route at the end of February or early March 2026, ahead of the Eid al-Fitr.

This project aims to improve connectivity while strengthening Jakarta's international image. The Jakarta Provincial Government will build new bus stops and prepare 20 buses, initially projected to serve up to 2,000 passengers per day.

The project's implementation will involve collaboration between PT Transjakarta and PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia to ensure proper, efficient transportation services with short waiting times for the public and tourists.
